H2020 Civitas Suits: Supporting Local Authorities’ Implementing Sustainable Transport Measures

Abstract

H2020 CIVITAS SUITS (Sustainable Urban Integrated Transport Systems: Transferable tools for Small to Medium local authorities) is a 4-year research and innovation action (RIA), entering its final 18 months. Its aim is to increase the capacity of Small-Medium (SM) local authorities (LAs) to develop and implement sustainable, inclusive, integrated and accessible transport strategies, policies, technologies, practices, procedures, tools, measures and intelligent transport systems that recognize the end-to-end travel experiences of all users and freight. The paper presents 4 case studies of sustainable transport measures implemented during the project. Each comprises a brief description, analysis of aims and objectives, implementation requirements, scalability/replicability, target groups, challenges, financing and cost requirements, final outcomes/impact.
