Abstract

Collection and distribution material flow systems can be established using both intermittent and continuous material handling equipment. The adaptation of these systems is gaining traction, primarily due to shifts in product structure, the quantity of products to be moved, and periodic process enhancements. Typically, there are multiple options for modifying the system in question, and finding the most suitable one, given the system's complexity, often necessitates the application of a simulation-based investigative approach. This paper introduces the concept of a simulation testing method designed to aid in the selection of the most appropriate process improvement alternative for collection and distribution systems.
