Abstract
In this study, we investigated the impact of variations in welding current and arc voltage on the coefficients of penetration shape and reinforcement shape. The welding process utilized automatic submerged arc welding with a 4 mm diameter electrode wire, along with the use of domestic welding materials. The experiments were conducted on 200x150x20 mm plates, which were joined using short welds. Following the welding process, the plates were fractured at the weld connection point, and the dimensions of the weld at the fracture site were measured, as illustrated in Figure 2. We employed a two-factorial experimental design, and the randomization of the variables is presented in Table 1, while the experimental plan is detailed in Table 2. Table 3 provides the results of the measurements of weld dimensions, and Figure 3 visually represents these dimensions graphically. Additionally, Table 4 displays the calculated values of the penetration shape coefficient and reinforcement shape coefficient, and Table 5 presents the average values of these coefficients. Figure 4 offers a graphical representation of the penetration and reinforcement shape coefficient values based on the data from Table 5.
